Version 2

I just uploaded Version 2. This version adds some replayability features.

  • Win Streaks - If you beat the game you will start a Win Streak. Beating the game again will increase the Win Streak by one. If you ever die or restart a game in progress you will lose the Win Streak. An exclamation mark behind your Win Streak count means you are pushing your all-time best Win Streak. The game will also keep track of how many attempts you've made so far.
  • Score Mode - If you beat the game you will unlock Score Mode. This mode will allow you to play games against any Vampire without a persistent Blood counter. The point of the Score Mode is just to be able to play the game indefinitely. The game will keep track of your all time best winnings for every Vampire so you can try to go for a high score.

This update also marks the game being feature-complete. The restrictions of the platform I've chosen have caught up with me and I won't be able to add any more features. However, I am keeping track of any feedback for a potential sequel or follow-up. So I'm still eager to hear your thoughts!

A few ideas: Differing endings depending on your streak. A little animation could play when you hit a win streak of maybe 3 or five when you win you'll turn into a vampire might be neat.

I've found that more often than I use the + abilities for finding the vampire, I use them to try and safely nab the square or < abilities.  Maybe they could affect an entire row in later stages.

Seeing as how you've added a new win streaks mechanic, the game could have a difficulty progression based on your streak, adding later vampires based on the streak.

I've said this before, but if you're considering a sequel a mobile port or steam release wouldn't go unnoticed.

You could add sprites for Ace, 10, 11, 12, Jack, King, Queen, and have a 4x4 mode, with vampire at highest value. Might make the final vampire more difficult and intense, tho you'd have to make the square a 3x3 for that or else it would be unbalanced.
